The Owon XDM2041 features four front panel banana input jacks. Plugging probe leads into the wrong jack is the #1 cause of blown internal protection fuses.

~=V button on the front panel so DCV appears on the main screen.CRITICAL WARNING: Current measurements require connecting the meter in SERIES with the circuit path. Never place the multimeter probes across a voltage source or power supply rail while in current mode, as this will short the circuit and blow the internal DMM fuse!

Power OFF the circuit under test.
Plug the Black lead into COM.
Plug the Red lead into:
Press the ~=A button to enter current mode (DCA displayed).
Break the circuit trace or wire path, and place the meter leads in series so all load current flows through the meter.
Turn on circuit power and record the current reading.
